The project is currently under NDA, so we can only share limited details. After approximately 12 months of development, an Indian studio approached Studio Z 3D to assist with replication and multiplayer features in their prototype. Upon reviewing the project, we determined that it would be more efficient to rebuild the entire system from the ground up using our proprietary methods.
In just six weeks, we successfully recreated the prototype and expanded upon it, achieving seamless multiplayer functionality. The Unreal Project we developed was submitted to Epic for Mega Grant consideration, and after a brief six-month evaluation, we were thrilled to receive the EMG award.
From the outset, the project aimed to transition from Western developers to a local Indian workforce. Studio Z developed a modular, efficient Unreal Project that could be effectively handed off to the new team at the Indian studio.
We are incredibly proud of our achievements on this project, having created a AAA dinosaur survival demo in a remarkably short timeframe. Notably, Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony, experienced this demo privately just before the IGDC in 2023 and offered positive feedback.
